Sayings...

I laugh at some of the sayings I use on my kids that I've picked up from my parents.

I didn't know what they meant as a kid, but now that I'm an adult, I'm a little embarrassed to admit I say them to my own children.
When you are done pushing someone on the swings and you want them to slowly come to a stop we say...
"Let the cat die."
When you are helping a child to take their shirt off we say...
"Skin the bunny."

Some other funny saying my family says are...
"You're the luckiest duck in the river."
We called Parmesan cheese "Ajax" growing up (because the container looked like the cleaner, Ajax.)
We thought all outhouses were called an "oogus" because that's what the one at our cabin was named (long story).
When my dad or brothers take their little boys into the men's room and the urinals are low enough for them to reach they always say...
"It's just his size, Tami." (I don't know why, but they always use my name. The other men in the bathroom probably wonder who Tami is.)

What weird sayings does your family have?

Um, my family's sayings are the same as yours... unfortunately.

I forgot about the Ajax.

How about, "Are you going to put on your britches?"

Or... "Do you want some coddon candy?"

Ajax, britches, and pooches came from Grandpa Ned.

"Let the cat die", came from when my Grandpa Layton would swing us at the cabin. (1950's)

The others just came from crazy ole me.
