Easter and April so Far

Our 2000 Dodge, Stratus has been having a few problems lately, so Tom decided it was time for a new car.
So the end of March, we made a decision to replace the old car.
I still haven't taken a decent picture of it outside yet, but this is our new car!  A 2013 Hyundai, Sonata.  We've never owned a car so new, so we are really enjoying this one!

The kids had three days off school for spring break.  One of the days off we went swimming at the Rec Center with our neighbor friends.

Lily was sad they wouldn't let her use her new mermaid tail.

The next day I got my hair done.  I was so bored with it, and so I decided to dye it brown!  I've been a blonde for so long and I was ready for a change.  The color took way better than planned and was really dark, but I like it.

That night, the kids and I colored Easter eggs.

Then Sunday was Easter!  The kids were really good to not touch or look for any eggs until Tom and I woke up. They played nicely in the basement until we got up at 9:30!  They lined up in order of who slept in the longest that morning.

Frist they found their baskets.
Then they hunted for eggs.

The Easter bunny even left them some toys!

Then we ate our traditional "conference" rolls and watched/listened to General Conference.

During conference the kids were taking selfies and other pictures.  Sophie took this one all by herself!

That afternoon they played with their new toys.
Sophie got a bubble machine.
Cedric got a Skylander Trap and a kite.

Jeff got another basketball.
Lily got some chap stick she loves and new owl earrings.

After the second session of Conference, we headed over to Tom's parents house for Easter dinner and another egg hunt.

We also stopped in at my families house afterward for a bit.
It was a fun Easter weekend.

A few days later, Tom had a celebration dinner put on by his work for all the employees that had been there 10, 15, 20 or 25 years.  We felt so spoiled!  It was a fancy dinner at the Utah Museum of Natural History.  I'm so proud of all the hard work Tom does for our family and for his company.  We've been very blessed.

The next weekend Lily and Jeff had their spring recital for Piano.  However, they had a few of the students perform other talents as well, so Lily also sang a beautiful solo!

Our across the street neighbor, Russ is their piano teacher.  We sure love our neighbors.

The following Wednesday we had a huge snow blizzard!  It snowed all day!

By Friday, it was all completely melted and the kids were back in T-shirts again.  I have to admit, I kind of like Utah Spring.

Cedric loves to draw pictures.  This is one he did at school.  It's him and Sophie licking lollipops.
He also got the student of the month award at school!

Thursday night, I was scraping a sticker off a jar and the straight blade slipped and sliced my finger open!  It hurt pretty bad and I could see my muscle inside the cut, so I figured it probably needed stitches.
I went to the urgent care and the gave me a Tetanus shot and three stitches.  It has not been fun to have this to deal with.

Friday was the Young Women spaghetti dinner and bake auction fundraiser.  I was over the whole thing, and it was a lot of work!  From collecting money in the rain, to cooking 50lbs of spaghetti, it was quite the feat.  However, I delegated to the other leaders and the girls were involved, so I felt like it went very well overall.  We were very successful, but had a ton of food leftover!  Next year, we'll know how to do it better and hopefully be even more successful!
Lily got to help too, since she comes into Young Women's this year.

Yesterday (the day after the fundraiser), my friends Tiffany, Chris and I went on a much needed girls outing.  Mani/Pedi's and lunch! (I didn't get any pics, because the three of us have so many pics together!)
So far Aprils been a very eventful month!
