Projects

For the past month or so we've been sprucing up the inside of our house. We have plans to list our home for sale next month. So we've been painting a lot (with a lot still to do). The kids thought it would be fun to help, Tom didn't think their help was so fun.

Before painting, we had to tape everything and clean. This was a first, vacuuming the top of the wall.

Cedric was just good to stay out of the way and play Ipod in a box.

Tuesday we got new carpet. It's funny how a big empty room with soft, new carpet can keep kids entertained for hours. They had so much fun just running and rolling around.

It's nice to feel like things are new and clean, but I'm sure a lot more stressed about the kids. Before if they dinged the wall or spilled on the carpet it was no big deal. But now I feel like I'm constantly telling them STOP, NO or DON'T. It's going to be a long few months!

Kids Say the Darndest Things

On Monday my neighbor was picking Lily up from school because it was raining. As Lily was CLIMBING IN THE CAR she asked "are we walking today?"

Yesterday I couldn't find one of the plums, and of course asked Cedric where it went (see old post). He opened his mouth as if to show me he ate it. So I asked him "where's the seed?" and he said "C, Cedric". (Later I found the plum on the floor, he hadn't eaten it after all. Although there was an orange with bite marks in the peel.)

The other day, out of the blue Jeff says "Mom, it's not okay to look at girls nipples when they're naked, but it's okay to look at them if their shirt is on." Um, NO! And he's only four! I don't want to know what he'll be like as a teenager.

My Remote

The kids and Tom gave me a late Christmas/early Mother's Day present today. It was a remote to control the kids!

It was really creative and so far seems to work well on the kids. I can tell them to do things such as "leave Cedric alone", "say sorry", "go potty", or "play piano" and as long as I point the remote at them and push the right button, they willingly do what I ask!
