Happy Birthday Tom and America!

The fourth of July is always a fun holiday. Since I can remember we would attend the annual Brighton Breakfast and then walk around Silver Lake. Tom and I also have the tradition of getting new flag shirts from Old Navy each year. This year it ended up just being our little family of five that participated in the Brighton Breakfast tradition, but it was still enjoyable. The kids especially enjoyed throwing rocks in the lake and seeing pot guts on the trail.

The other reason it's such a great day is it's Tom's Birthday. His Mom and I love telling everyone that his name is Thomas Jefferson born on July 4th 1976!

The rest of the day was spent with our extended families. We are so blessed to both love our in-laws and hanging out with each other's families. First we went swimming with my side, then we headed off to Tom's parent's for dinner, a showing of "Independence Day", birthday cake and of course fireworks!

Cedric was already asleep by 7:30, but the other two loved the fireworks, especially the sparklers. Other than Uncle Dell showing the kids what NOT to do with fireworks, it was an enjoyable show. Plus the kids got to stay up until 11:00 (fun for them, not for Mom and Dad).
