Spring Break - Lazy Day in Cortez, CO

Friday, April 14th
Day four of our adventure.
Today we decided to take a break from all the driving, sleep in and just relax.
I woke up to the kids playing happily in their fort.  Here's Cedric peaking over the top.
The kids wanted to go swimming first thing, which was fun because we had the pool all to ourselves.
This picture depicts my kids perfectly, The helper-child, the cautious-child, the teasing/playful-child, and the care-free-child.
 These two are two-peas-in-a-pod.
Once in a while these two get along.  I call them frenemies.
After swimming we played games and hung out in the large dining area of the hotel.

We ate lunch in the hotel (some fast-food and leftovers).
Then we decided to venture out of the hotel.  (They had to clean our room at some point.)  Another perfect-weather-day called for a park, and we found a good one.
Lily loved climbing the big tree.
And the kids had more fun playing with the ducks than the playground.

 Us adults enjoyed it too.
We were craving a snack so we stopped in at Dairy Queen for some treats.
Then we surprised the kids and went to the only theater in the little tiny town to see "Boss Baby".  It was weird, but I think the kids liked it.
The kids went for another dip in the pool while they waited for dinner.  I picked up some pizzas for them to eat in the room.
Maren, Tom and I decided to go get dinner without the kids.  Maxine was nice enough to stay back with Maren's kids and Lily babysat ours while we went to our late dinner.  It took us a long time to find a restaurant still open at 10pm in the little town.  We settled on a tasty Mexican restaurant.
We came back to find Cedric asleep in our bed.  All the other kids were asleep as well.
It was nice to have a day to just do "nothing".
