Besides being gone EVERY. SINGLE. WEEKEND this summer, we were able to fit in other fun events too. We did some fun things in July…
My friend, Tiffany and I took our kids to see the float show. It’s free and it gives you a chance to see the Days of ‘47 Day Parade floats up close and vote on your favorite one. It was very crowded though.
Jeff was trying all sorts of ways to earn extra money. His most successful was selling Otter Pops. It only costs $4 for a box of 100, and he sold them for $0.50, so his net income from his sales was over $20!
My cousins, Shelley and Katie came swimming with us one night. It was fun to catch up!
Tiffany, Chris and I went and saw “Wicked”! I’ve always wanted to see it, and so I bought myself a ticket for my Mother’s Day present :) It was an amazing show!
For the 24th of July we had a fun barbecue/pool party with my side of the family.
Afterwards, we went to Matt & Aimee’s house to watch fireworks. They have a ton of neighbors and family that all go in together on the fireworks, so it’s quite the show.
Jeff had fun helping to light them. It made me nervous the whole time.
I wasn’t the only nervous one. Sophie did not like the fireworks at all!
You can’t have fireworks without sparklers.
One day my friend, Kristi and I took our kids to Hollywood Connection. She has kids all around my kids ages, so it’s fun to do stuff together. Poor Lily was the only one without a buddy, if only their family had an older girl :( She was a good sport though.
Sophie’s favorite ride was the merry-go-round. She wanted to ride the rooster every time!
The last Saturday in July was the Burley, Idaho Spudman Triathlon. Tom and his brothers, Bryce and Kurtis all participated.
I actually stayed home that weekend with the kids. Besides Hollywood connection we also organized the play room (Lily had fun making this box horse) and then we went to the dollar theater to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman. They were really good kids that weekend!
When Tom got back, we went to Pizza Pie Cafe (our new favorite restaurant).
Afterwards, we were going to do some shopping, but Cedric tripped on the sidewalk and did a major face plant on the cement! We obviously cut our shopping trip short.
We’ve had a lot of rain this summer, but the kids love to play in it.
One cold, rainy day Lily made zucchini bread. She loves to bake and it turned out really good!
Tom and I do a date lunch to Tucano’s every July because he gets a free birthday meal.
Sophie loved playing with her tea set this summer. Here she is pouring “tea” for her cousin, Charlotte.
It was a fun, busy July!
