Wednesday, August 9th was a gorgeous day! It started out a bit windy, but warmed up. We spent the day in Wales. We started at Conwy Castle.
It was fun to be there again and was one of the few places I'd recognized this trip from our trip 17 years ago.
We also walked down to the warf where families were crab fishing. This made Aimee and Suzy wanting crab for lunch. Ironically, there was no where close by that served crab?
So we drove over several bridges and ate lunch in Anglesey. Ironically, they didn't serve crab on the weekdays and no one ordered seafood at all.
After that we drove to Beaumaris Castle and had fun walking through the ruins. We dressed up as castle folk, stood on the wall overlooking the moat, and sang in the castle's chapel. It was fun to explore!
To spice things up, Nate told us to stand like models. Aimee was teasing me that the Superman stance is not a model pose.
Suzy was more than fine being our photographer and missing out on this one.
Even the grounds around the castle were exciting. My kids would've enjoyed the playground, ground bowling, golf and other activities.
We drove a ways behind the castle to get a good photo op.
We watched as Nate traipsed through the bushes and climbed on barb wire fences to get the perfect shot. It definitely paid off!
If I ever go back to Wales, this castle is one to visit again.
Then we went to the town with the longest name in the world: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, and had an ice cream cone.
And THEN we drove back to Manchester. Nate and Aimee wanted to try English sushi, so we walked to a Sushi place close by, but it was closed. So Aimee and Nate took an Uber to Chinatown to eat.
I am not a fan of sushi so I opted to go with Dad and Suzy went back to the flat and had leftovers. It was nice to get some one-on-one time with them.
