One day I walked in and saw Lily sitting on the couch. Looking at her reminded me of a photo of myself at age 16. She didn't know why I was taking her picture here.
We definitely look related...
The kids had Wacky Wednesday at school one week and so Sophie wanted to dress wacky as well.
Tom went rock climbing with his brother, Eric.
Tom also joined the gym and has a guest pass so I can go with him whenever I want... which isn't as often as it should be.
We had a warm spell mid-march, and the kids wanted to play in the water, so I compromised by letting them throw giant water balloons.
Each month we do a date night with my siblings (and parents, when they aren't on missions). It's fun to get together and talk, eat and play games and such.
Lily had another choir concert. She continues to flourish with her musical talents.
One warm day I was wandering around our garden and discovered we had carrots still growing from last year! Cedric had come home early from school sick that day, but I knew he would want to be a part of this (he wants to be a farmer, among other things).
I couldn't believe how many carrots we got, and that wasn't even half of them!
On St. Patrick's Day the kids wore green and got their traditional chocolate coins. Some say they were left by leprechauns and others don't want to get involved in one more holiday character to keep track of.
We took advantage of the warm weather and went to the park (or rather a school play ground) to play and eat pizza. Jeff was upset because we didn't get the pizza he liked and rebelled by playing on a different playground than the one we were on.
March was Lily's month for a date with Mom and Dad. She wanted to go on a hike. So when we saw that the day before the first day of spring was going to be in the 70's, we took advantage and hiked to Rocky Mouth Falls.
Lily loves the outdoors and nature. She had fun taking pictures of all the scenery.
She and Tom ventured further than I wanted to, but we all had a good time.
Afterwards we went out to dinner at Red Maple Chinese. It was tasty as always.
Another fun tradition we have on both sides of our families is a monthly dinner on Sundays. Here we are at Mike and Karyn's for our monthly get-together. Although my kids don't fit in as well with their cousins, age and gender-wise, they still all have fun together.
And the adults have fun together too.
Sophie was excited to see our flowers were starting to grow.
Ironically, on one of the warmest days of the year, so far, Tom went skiing with some buddies from work one evening.
Sometimes having kids is just comical. Here's how I found Jeff one night when I went to tuck him in.
We were excited to go see the new 'Beauty and the Beast" movie. We invited Nana, Maren and Charlotte. It was a great movie! However, if you ask Sophie what her favorite part of the movie was, she'd say "when the two boys were dancing together at the end". I don't know why that's what stuck out to her, but again, having kids is just comical.
Jeff started playing in a basketball league and our good friend, Kenny is his coach. He plays on a league with boys all a grade older than him, so it's quite challenging, but he loves it!
However, Jeff was realizing that having long hair and playing basketball doesn't mix.
So after seven months and much to the joy of all of us, he chose to cut it off! We first cut off a ponytail for him to keep.
And this is what he looked like after! So handsome and grown-up!
Because his next basketball game conflicted with his original hair appointment, I asked my hair dresser friend if she could come to my house and cut it a different day. There was hair all over!
LOVE!
March was a great month!
