Sophie Turns 4!

December 17, 2011 Sophie Adair was born.
It's a bitter sweet day when your baby turns four!
She's turning into a beautiful, funny, strong-willed little girl.
A few weeks before her birthday, Sophie went with Grandpa Kent and Grandma Suzy on her birthday date.  They went to Costa Vida for lunch and then shopping at Target.  Sophie picked out a cute monkey.
Her birthday fell on the same day as the preschool Christmas parties (I hosted three parties that day with 3-5 year olds!).

After preschool was done, we got ready for the birthday party.  The theme was puppies.  I got a bunch of cute stuff from Oriental Trading.
Tom and I made cupcakes with marshmallows in the shape of paw prints and the kids helped me decorate the house.
Soon the party guests arrived.  They decorated party bags by coloring pictures of dog houses I'd put on the bags.
Then they picked a puppy from the pound to put in their bags to take home.
Next we sang "Happy Birthday" and Sophie blew out the candles.

Then the kids enjoyed cupcakes and ice cream.  Nana helped with the party too!
Next, we broke the kids up into three groups.  One group did balloon dogs with Jeff, the clown dog.

One group did face painting with Lily.

And the other group did a dog bean bag toss and pin the tail on Clifford with Cedric.

The kids loved their new puppy look!

 Next, we opened presents.
First, from the friends.

Then from her siblings (they gave her each a toy dragon from the dollar store.  She was so excited!)

Then her presents from Mom and Dad.

She was so excited to get Puppy Surprise!
The mom came with three baby pups.
 She loved all her presents!
After the party was over, we went out to Noodles and Company as a family for dinner.  It's Sophie's favorite restaurant.
The following Sunday, she opened a few more presents from Aunts and Uncles.
She loved the giant coloring book and personalized mug they gave her.
Four things I love about Sophie...
1. She is my cuddle buddy.  She loves to hug and snuggle and always wants to be with her mom.
2. She loves animals and babies, real or pretend.
3. She has a great imagination and loves to play with toys and friends.
4. She knows what she wants and is a smart girl.
Happy Birthday Sophie!
