Last night, our cat, Baby passed away.  Tom and I had gone out to visit friends and she must've tried to slip under the closing garage door (she has terrible luck with doors) and it trapped her.  We think it suffocated her and hope she didn't suffer long.  We've tried to be so careful to watch her since the car door accident (see previous post).  We watched the garage door close and Tom thought it looked a little off, but I thought it looked fine.  I wish we would've checked!  Although Lily had woken up to help Sophie at the time we were just getting home, we opted not to tell her until morning.  Needless to say, neither of us slept well last night.  We told her when she got up for school this morning.  It was one of the hardest things to do as a parent!  She chose to still go to school, but was quite upset.  I'm sad that we'd just hung up a stocking for her and I'd even bought her a few things for Christmas (including a little Santa dress that said "Santa  Baby").  We are all aching for the loss of our kitten. She was a part of our family for only three short months and died at only five months old.  She will be missed!
