Holy Cow! Where has the past six years gone? I can’t believe this cute little guy just turned six years old!
October 4th was Cedric’s sixth birthday. However, with Tom out of town for the St. George Marathon and a huge project I was working on over the weekend, we decided to do his birthday party on Thursday, October 2nd.
Cedric wanted a Skylander party.
Counting Ced’s siblings, we had 15 kids for the party!
First the kids played outside, then we had pizza for dinner.
Then it was time for games.
The kids each got a passport to visit the eight different Skylander elements (thank you Pinterest for the idea).
First was Magic. We made pop fizz using the diet soda and Mentos trick.
First we did a two liter.
Then everyone got a turn to do a little one.
The next element game was for tech.
We did a coin hunt with chocolate coins.
Then we did earth element.
The kids had to crush the ice cubes with tools and get the toy zombie out.
Then they found the water element.
They had to squirt the ‘bad guy’ bottles with water.
Then we went inside for life element.
This game was bubble wrap smash. Each kid got their own strip of bubble wrap to smash.
The sixth game was for air element.
They had to race a Skylander card across the table by blowing it.
Then we did a game for undead element.
The kids had to toss the ping-pong eye balls into the holes.
The last element was fire.
For this game I bought magic birthday candles that would spark while burning. The kids were mesmerized!
Then we sang “Happy Birthday” and Cedric blew out the candles.
He loved the Skylander cake! (it was worth buying a store made cake with the crazy week it had been).
Then we ate cake and ice cream
When they were done we turned on a Skylander music video on Youtube and danced.
Then it was time to open presents.
It was so cute, because I told Cedric to look the person in the eye and tell them “thank you” after he opened their present. This is how he looked as he exaggerated the gratitude.
He got quite a few new Skylander Swap-Force guys, but it wasn’t until he opened Mom and Dad’s present last that he got really excited!
He’s been begging for Swap-force since January!
Love my birthday boy!
The kids just played outside or watched TV until the parents came. It was a good night and good weather!
Here’s what was in their goodie bags. I think I got a little carried away with the theme…
Magic: soda pop fizzy candy
Earth: Oreos and gummy worms
Life: Life-savors
Fire: cinnamon fire Jolly Ranchers
Water: water bottle
Tech: chocolate coin
Air: Air Heads
Undead: chocolate eye balls
Saturday was Cedric’s real birthday.
It was a pretty normal day. He had fun playing with his friend, Jacob and playing his new Skylander game.
Then Nana and Grandpa Bryce stopped by to give him a gift and cup cakes.
Then Cedric chose to go to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner.
The next weekend he got to go with his other grandparents for his birthday date. They went to Arctic Circle and then he got a new Skylander guy.
Here are six things I love about Cedric…
1. He loves everyone, especially little kids and babies.
2. He is very smart and loves to learn.
3. He knows what’s right and has a love for the Savior.
4. He is very tech savvy.
5. He has a good imagination.
6. He is witty and often says very funny or creative things.
Happy Birthday, Cedric!
