A few weekends ago I went on a weekend get-away with some of my girl friends. On Friday, October 12, Cheri, Angelyn and I headed up to Cheri’s cabin near Oakley. We stopped at a little burger joint for dinner, then made ourselves at home at the cabin. The upstairs is a big loft with several beds.
The next day we slept in, finished our movie from the night before, played games, ate a food and snacks, ect. Then we headed down to Park City to meet up with the other half of our gang. We shopped at the outlet malls (I bought myself several new items for my upcoming birthday), then we went out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays.
Angelyn, Cindy, Cheri, Me, Nisha & Rebekah.
Cindy stayed the second night with us at the cabin, but Nisha and Rebekah had to head home. We watched another movie that night. The next day we ate a big breakfast, then went for a walk around the canyons. It was so beautiful and we even saw a couple of bull moose! They were only feet from us when we first noticed them, but luckily, they went the other way when they heard us.
Thursday, October 17th was my real birthday. Tom’s mom made me a monster cake, and Tom got me a 1/2 dozen of custard filled donuts. Tom and I went to the temple, then to a Chinese Buffet that night.
The next day Tom had the day off work. We went with the kids that morning to a free carnival, but it was so crowded we ended up leaving and going to a free mini corn maze instead. It was such nice weather!
Afterward, we came back for lunch, then Tom took me out on a surprise birthday date! His mom was nice to babysit for us (again). He gave me my own set of golf clubs and we went golfing (it’s only the second time I’ve ever been in my life). Looks like I’ll have to start playing golf more.
After golf I hurried home and a little bit later was heading out again. I’d plan to go out with my friends, Chris and Tiffany for my birthday, but Chris had a family emergency and couldn’t make it. They gave me this cute gift full of orange things, then Tiffany and I went and got mani/pedi’s, went shopping (Love Culture is my new favorite store), then to the Cheesecake factory. We missed Chris, but still plan on doing a birthday lunch and shopping sometime soon.
On Wednesday, I went to lunch with my Dad, Suzy, Tom, Aimee & Mike. I neglected to get a picture, but we enjoyed a nice meal at Zupas.
Then Thursday I went to my cousin, Shelley’s bridal shower. It was clear up in Bountiful and I carpooled with her and her friend so it made for a long, fun girls night.
I feel like I’ve been so spoiled the past few weeks. It’s been so fun to do stuff for me!
