Pioneer Day & Fountain Green

On Monday, the 25th of July we did our Pioneer day celebrations. That night we had a party with family at the pool. Here's my sister, my mom, me and my grandma.
Cedric loved pushing his older cousins into the water.
He even jumped off the diving board with his dad there to catch him.
After we headed to my sister's house for fireworks.

It's the first time I can remember sitting in the rain watching fireworks. But we did get quite a few done in between storms.

The next weekend we headed down to my Aunt and Uncle's ranch in Fountain Green. It's one of my favorite camping trips. We have good food, great company, fun activities, and best of all, grass, electricity and flushing toilets. There were about 80 of us there for Friday night dinner.
As always the kids love sleeping in the tent.
One of my cousins made a candy store for the kids (and adults) to purchase treats. The kids loved helping to manage the store. They would also ask to do jobs to earn money for the store, it was great! Friday night we watched a movie on the side of the pavilion, "Support Your Local Sheriff".

Jeff got to play games, his favorite activity.
And they also did a rocket building contest.
Even the big boys got in on the fun!
And of course there was horseback riding (Cedric said "I love this!" the whole time on the horse). Here he is with my Uncle, Brent who was so nice to host us all.
And ATV's for four-wheeling.

There was volleyball to play. Or volleyball to watch.
A playground.
There were even bugs to play with. And we were completely surrounded by horses and mountains!
After lunch on Saturday we drove home. The kids were all wiped out after such a fun weekend.

You guys have done so many big family things this summer! I am glad we ended up being at the rodeo on the 25th, so we stayed dry!
