Our Memorial Weekend Stay-cation

We had a great Memorial Weekend. We didn't go on vacation, but instead had a very fun stay-cation. On Saturday we started the day by heading up to Cherry Hills. We'd never been there before and when the kids got invited up to a double birthday party for our neighbor's kids, we decided to all go. Along with a nice birthday party we also went miniature golfing. It was too cold to swim (which is what Cherry Hills is known for), but it was perfect golfing weather.
Even Cedric got his own club and literally had a ball!
Afterwards we went home for naps and that night I went and hung out with two of my sisters-in-law, Erica and Maren while Tom stayed home with the kids and watched the Stanley Cup Finals with his brother, Kurtis.
Sunday we went downtown to see Temple Square with the kids. My sister Aimee and her family and my parents went too. It was a fun way to spend the evening.
Monday we went for a family bike ride. We decided to just go to a nearby church parking lot so Cedric could ride his bike too. It was actually really fun. Lily was a little pouty at first, but by the end she was riding her bike and scooter all over and loving it! Jeff wanted to try Lily's bike, which doesn't have training wheels anymore, and what'd ya know? He was able to ride it just fine!

After our bike ride Cedric took a nap, Tom mowed the lawn, I helped wash the cars and the kids played. Then we took off to the Kearns fitness center for swimming. We were hoping it'd be warm enough to swim outside, but with the weather a little cool we decided to just play in the indoor pool.
Cedric loved the water!
After swimming we picked up some dinner, headed over to Tom's parents house to say "hi" to his family, wish his brother Bryce a happy birthday and hang out for a bit. Then we went over to the cemetery to pay tribute to those loved ones who've passed on. My brother Mike, sister Aimee, us and our families all sat around Grandpa Great's grave and talked about the memories we have of him. It was ironic his birthday was the next day. After visiting Grandpa we headed up to the Winder Country Store for some ice cream! Here are the boys with their cousin Caleb.
It was such a fun weekend and we enjoyed spending it together as a family.

That looks like such a great weekend! I love doing fun stuff close to home and just spending time with family.

Thanks for letting us "tag along" on your outing to Temple Square. A totally appropriate way to celebrate our 37th Anniversary on a Sunday!

Way to go, Jeff on being a "natural" on riding a bike. I love you all!!!
