Cedric Turns 9!

On October 4th our Ceddy Bear turned 9!
I can't believe how big Cedric is getting!
He will always be our fun, tongue-sucking, cute little boy.

On Cedric's birthday I checked him out of school and took him to lunch.  We went to Chick-Fil-A.  Then I hurried home to teach preschool, then hurried back to the school to take donuts to his class.
That night, we went to Village Inn for dinner as a family.
He wanted pie for his birthday, instead of cake.  Luckily, Wednesday is free pie night there.  He ended up eating his pumpkin and Sophie's french silk pie.
After dinner (and after running back home to have Lily change, since the ketchup bottle exploded all over her clothes), we headed to the airport.
Cedric said "The best birthday present is having Grandpa and Grandma come home from their mission on my birthday!"  We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Cedric while waiting for Dad & Suzy to get off the plane.  Cedric loved it!

After the airport, we hurried home to give Cedric his presents.
He was excited to get his magnetic slime, Chain Reaction Lego kit...
...and a new Hermit Crab!  Lily had gotten one in Texas during the summer, but it had died.  So she gave him her old stuff for his crab.  He decided to name him Gary.
It was a nice night together to celebrate our sweet boy.
The kids had fun playing with his new stuff before it was time for bed.

The next day, we went as a family to Classic Fun Center.
Cedric, Sophie and Jeff did the Blast Zone, while, Tom, Lily and I sat and hung out.  Poor Sophie got a slide burn on her hand, which resulted in three blisters.  I helped her get it taken care of, but it made her upset.
After the Blast Zone, the three kids scootered around for a bit (Sophie was feeling better).  Then they played a few arcade games.  On our way out, we spotted some of the Marvel super heroes, so we went and met them.

With some of his birthday money, Cedric bought some toy weapons, and then some bigger shells for Gary (he was a lot bigger than Lily's crab, so all the shells we already had were too small).  We also realized the cage Lily gave him was too small for the bigger shells, so we took the turtle's old tank and turned it into a crab sanctuary.

Here are 9 things I love about Cedric...
1.  He has the best imagination and is very creative.
2.  He is a very good piano player, once he learns a song, he loves to play.
3.  He is a smart boy, likes to read, create things on the computer/Minecraft and has a different way of looking at things.
4.  He loves little kids and animals.  He is really good with both too.
5.  He has a sensitive heart and a strong testimony.
6.  He makes people laugh and has a cute sense of humor.  He has an addicting laugh too.
7.  He is a good helper.
8.  He loves the outdoors: hiking, swimming, bike rides, etc.
9.  He makes sure he gives me a hug every day.
Happy Birthday Cedric!
