It's Great to be 8! Cedric's Birthday & Baptism

Eight years ago, on October 4th, 2008, Cedric Jerome was born on a rainy Saturday.
Then he grew into a fun-loving, cuddly, silly little boy.
Now he's a smart, computer-obsessed, social boy!
The end of September he got to go on an early birthday date with Grandpa Kent and Grandma Suzy.  He was so excited to go to Arby's for lunch and then to a Halloween store where he bought a huge battle ax!

On the morning of his real birthday he got to open a present.  He was so excited when he saw what it was!
The flaming skeleton jacket he'd seen at the store was all he wanted!
Plus, it doubles as his Halloween costume, so that's a win for all of us!
Luckily, I had a field trip with my preschoolers that morning, which meant I didn't have to teach that afternoon.  Sophie and I surprised Cedric and checked him out of school and took him to lunch.
Then at the end of the school day, we went back to the school and brought donuts to his class.  The fun thing is, Tom was also at the school because he'd just finished going to the maturation program with Jeff and so he was able to come too!

That night we went out to dinner.  Tom's parent's joined us at Golden Corral, Cedric's favorite restaurant.
He loved the attention as they sang to him!
Tom's parents and Aunt Maren gave him a fancy Captain America shield and some coloring books.

That night he opened a few more presents, a Lego Avengers Xbox game from Mom and Dad.
And a new watch from his siblings.
Sadly, our TV HDMI isn't working, so he hasn't been able to play his new game, and he lost his new watch at school just a few days after his birthday.

The following Thursday, he had his friend party at The wAIRhouse trampoline arena.

He had a small group of friends, with a large amount of energy.

After jumping, we had some Costco pizza.
The kids were so hyper, we had them do games like Red light, Green light while they were waiting for everyone to finish.
Next, Cedric opened his presents.  He mostly got Legos and guns, but loved them all.
Then we sang "Happy Birthday" and had him blow out the candles.
He loved his colorful birthday cake!
Here are  eight things I love about Cedric...
1. He loves everybody and makes friends everywhere he goes.
2. He has a sensitive heart and still young and innocent.
3. He is smart at electronics.
4. He has a creative mind and a big imagination.
5. He enjoys playing the piano.
6. He is a great brother and loves little kids.
7. He enjoys drawing and art.
8. He has a sweet spirit and loves to bare his testimony.
!Happy Birthday Cedric

The Following Saturday was Cedric's baptism.  He is now a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I'm so proud that Tom is able to baptize our children through the power of the Priesthood.
And I'm so proud of Cedric and the decision he made.  He was so excited that day and when the stake leader called him and the other two children getting baptized up to the stand, he stood there with a big grin and two thumbs up as he talked about them.  I got to give the talk on the Holy Ghost, which was a fun opportunity.
After his baptism and confirmation, which went so well, we had a luncheon at our house.
We love our Cedie boy!
A few weeks before Cedric's baptism, our sister-in-law, Carlee took pictures of him for his baptism.  We went to the Oquirrh Mountain temple and I love how cute the pictures turned out!  We did the other kids pics and family ones too.  I'm excited to get those back soon.

I love my Cedric boy!
