As my last post stated, June was a busy month! The last few days were crammed with fun too.
On Friday, June 27th, the kids and I met up with my sister-in-law, Candalyn and cousin (in-law), Karen and their kids for a play date at the park.
Tom had gone golfing and then headed up to Logan for the MS bike ride the next day, so it was just the kids and I that day.
On Saturday we woke up early and met my sister, Aimee for the Taylorsville Dayzz Parade. She’s running for county council and we walked in the parade with her and other friends and family.
After the parade, Jeff was tired and Sophie was done with the stroller. It was about three blocks back to our car and I ended up pushing about 100lbs of boys while Sophie walked along side. I was more worn out than I had been from walking the entire parade route!
After the parade we ran home and ate lunch, then turned around again. We headed up to Logan to see Tom and his buddies complete their 100 mile bike ride.
While we waited, we went swimming at the rec center with the other moms and kids.
Then we all walked across the street and waited anxiously for the guys to finish.
Soon they arrived! Tom couldn’t help but be a little emotional. Another race completed and another medal earned.
The kids and I are so proud of him and that he finished (last year his tire blew at mile 85 and he wasn’t able to finish the race). Sophie was sad she’d spilled her Snowie…
Tom, Jeremy and Dee.
After, we went back over and swam some more at the rec center.
Lily even did the high dive and we all did the slides.
It was fun all the kids had friends to swim with.
Poor Jeff, so much time in the heat and sun caused a migraine.
Afterwards we went to a super yummy pizza place called Papa Kelsey’s.
Surprisingly, Sophie never took a nap that day, but sweet Jeff slept both on the way up to Logan and the whole way home. By the time we got home, his migraine was much better and Sophie had finally fallen asleep.
The next day, Sunday, we went with our friends, Tiffany & Kenny to the Temple Quarry that evening.
It is so beautiful there!
The kids had fun climbing on the rocks, exploring the dry riverbed and learning about the granite that helped build the Salt Lake Temple.
We then had a picnic dinner. It was fun!
Despite the busy weekend, we weren’t done yet. Monday the kids and I went to Seven Peaks, Trafalga for the day.
My neighbor, Taylor took Sophie for us since it would’ve been hard for us to do everything we wanted to with her.
It was a fun day! (Jeff got a bloody nose, but that was better than a migraine :)
That night my niece, Aubree watched the kids and we had a big date night with my family (it was the only night that we could all get together the whole month!).
Some of us went to Smash Burger for dinner, then we all saw “Maleficent” and then to Leatherby’s for ice cream. We missed my brother, Nate who lives in Germany.
My brother, Mike had gone through some more of my mom’s things and gave me a folder full of letters and cards I’d given my mom and she had saved. This letter I wrote my first year at college. It meant the most to me because if I could write a letter to her now, it’d say almost the exact same thing…
