Cedric's 3rd Birthday

Oct. 4th was Cedric's 3rd birthday. The night of his birthday we did a quick little party. It had been a busy day and although I planned on making a cake I ran out of time and had to buy one. Luckily we got free balloons from Harmon's which came in handy for our little party. I also got a call from my cousin, Alana asking if I could get with her and our old roommate, Jenny before she headed off to Saudi Arabia the next day. I told her what we were doing and invited them to come to the party too. It was fun to see them. We pretty much just did cake and ice cream and Cedric got a few presents from us.
Then next day we went to Fatcats. Cedric loves bowling and that's what he wanted to do for his birthday. Since Tom worked late the night of his real birthday, we had to go the next day. When we first got there they said that it'd be about a 40 minute wait before the leagues were done, so they let us do the glow-in-the-dark golf while we waited for free. We went through the course about five times before they got bored. Then we went over to the playground until they called us. We had bought a deal off of Groupon, which included a pitcher of rootbeer. We had a fun night despite me getting the worst score (of course, the kids had the bumpers and my balance was way off with a prego belly). Here's Cedric after getting a spare.
Then last night we had our monthly family dinner with my side of the family where we also celebrate the monthly birthdays. It was my dad's turn to host. He was so worried about what to get Cedric for his birthday, as that was usually my mom's area of expertise. However, he did a great job picking out Cedric's present. He gave him a big robot and Cedric was so excited!
I also took Cedric to the doctor for his well-child check-up. He was in the %60 for weight but only the %26 for height. When it came time to get his flu-shot I asked him if he wanted to get a shot and a band-aid and he said "yes". So I sat him up on the table and held his hands. The nurse told him to look out the window as she poked his arm with the needle and then quickly put the band-aid on. Cedric just looked at his arm and said "I got a band-aid!" it was as if the shot didn't even phase him. Then he proceeded to show all the people in the waiting room his band-aid as we walked out.
Cedric is such a loving, sweet boy. He is obsessed with people's sleeves and still sucks his tongue. He loves books, songs, computers and anything electronic. His favorite color is yellow and his favorite movie is "Strawberry Shortcake". Cedric is fully potty (and poopy) trained and is even dry through the nights! He goes to preschool, although his attention span struggles as he is the youngest in the class. But he catches onto things quickly. I am so grateful Cedric is a part of our family.
Happy Birthday, Cedric!
