So my niece nick-named the baby, Baby Avocado because that's about the size it was at Snowbird and the name stuck (for now). We had our ultrasound today (I'm now 18 weeks along). The baby seems healthy all over from what the ultrasound tech could tell. And we are having a...
Girl!!!
I am so surprised, I thought it would be a boy. Boys are in the majority on both sides, all the Chinese gender charts said boy, and I just thought I'm not that lucky to have two of each. However, I was wrong! We are all so excited. We called the kids to tell them (we headed straight down to see the final Harry Potter movie, so we had to call the kids) and Lily said "I'm so excited I might cry". Jeff was a good sport too. Despite wanting a boy he said "The one good thing with a girl is I can hold her like Sammy's baby" (our friend's also have a little girl). And Jeff will do well at that, he loves holding little babies. Cedric seems to know it's a girl, but I don't think he understands exactly what that means.
She was completely folded in half! See her knees touching her nose?
It reminds me of how Lily was when she was born. She was breech and came out bum first and completely folded in half. Hopefully Baby Avocado stretches out a bit in the next four months so we don't have another breech baby.
We are so excited to add another princess to the family!

Congrats! What wonderful news. Another daughter for you and a great grand-daughter for us. That makes us almost even for grand kids and great grand kids.
Love ya,
Grandpa and Grandma and Lynn
Let us - your grandparents on your mom's side - be the first to comment on your new little daughter! This will be so nice for Lily, to have a little sister~ Your mom probably told you what she said when I came home from the hospital with Jeff....not ANOTHER baby brother!! (She was so hoping for a little sister. I was sad that I had to disappoint her.) She had to wait quite a while before she eventually got not one - but two - little sisters! I wish they weren't so far away from her now. But they used to have a good time when everybody was home.
Thanks for letting us know about the next little great-grandie for us!
Take care. Enjoy your new home!
Love, Grandma and Grandpa
Congrats! That last picture of her bent in half is so funny. So flexible!
I am so excited for you! New house and a new baby - you sure do know how to keep busy! :) Congrats on both!!
