A beach in Utah?

Lily is always asking if we can go to the beach. I keep telling here there's no beaches in Utah (at least not the nice sandy beaches that she probably sees on TV). However, after we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house a couple months back I saw that there is a man-made lake with a man-made beach there in Daybreak! It reminded me of the beach we went to in Chicago when we were there three years ago.

So yesterday we went and checked out the beach in Daybreak. Other than the sun w/no shade and the bees, it was a very fun place! Lily thought she'd died and gone to heaven. There's a playground there, grass and a cute little beach. It was very crowded too, but that's to be expected when it's the only beach in the Salt Lake Valley! I recommend you go check it out, but bring the sunscreen and umbrella. What a fun final field trip for us this summer.
Lily was covered in sand from head to toe!
Jeff wanted to be "brave" and get in the lake.
Cedric was happy as long as he wasn't in the sand.

I was just at that beach when I was visiting Clay and Trista. Jed and Lisa and kids all came out and we had fun there.

Fun. We still have not made it to see the beach, although I've heard lots of good things about it.

We love that beach - but like you would appreciate a few less bees and a little more shade. But the kids always have a blast. Jeter and his mom) loves to run and jump off the dock.
