Lots of events happened in July.
Dad and Suzy opened their mission call. They will be going to Manchester, England! That's where my dad served his mission 45 years ago.
While the boys stayed at Dad and Suzy's house, they got to go tour the dairy plant. Seeing them ride on the convener belt, brings back memories of my childhood.
My cousin, Nick and his wife, Stef just had a baby and named her Sofie. My kids don't get enough baby time, so they had fun holding her at the 4th of July party.
I had to stop at my sister's house the night of the 4th, so I brought my boys along and they let us participate in their fireworks party. It was the only fireworks we did all month and Jeff was a little sad.
We went to the movies (I think this one was The BFG or Finding Dory). When I walked out and saw Lily sitting there on her phone, she looked so grown up! She is looking more and more like a teenager every day.
One day in July we went with my neighbors/friends, Kristi and Carolynn and their kids to Liberty Park. Lily's friend, Livvy, Grandma Kay and Charlotte were with us too. We had a picnic.
Then walked over to the Seven Canyon's Fountain. (3,4,5,6 year old girls).
Cedric loves the little girls and jumped in on the hand holding trian.
The boys, Jacob, Cedric, Steven, Jeff and Xander.
The moms, Kristi, Carolynn, me and Grandma Kay.
Lily and her friend, Livvy. Livvy had gotten stung by a bee, so Lily is holding an iced waterbottle on her back.
The little girls, Charlotte, Abbey, Sophie and Alyse.
Seven Canyon's Fountain is a must on our summer to-do list!
We were in charge of date night for July. Dad, Suzy, Natalie, Travis, Tom and I were the only ones able to make it. We had fun eating at Red Maple (my favorite) and then playing Bocce Ball afterwards.
Jeff got hurt on a boucy waters slide at a neighbor's birthday party. I took him to instacare because he was complaining of his arm hurting and was swollen. Luckily, not broken, but he had to keep it in a sling for a few days.
Tom was able to extract some honey from our honey bees! It was yummy!
7/11 is free Slurpee day. We went twice that day for free Slurpees. The kids love them!
That day we also went to Wheeler Farm because the weather was cooler. We went with my friend Kristi and her kids, and I had Charlotte that day too. We had milking the cow and then feeding the baby calves.
The next day is "dress like a cow day" at Chck-fil-a and by dressing up, we got free food (again).
That night, Tom and I went to a free concert. He'd won tickets for the Chicago concert. It was fun to just relax on the grass, and listen to the music.
The kids love swimming! Our neighbors have a pool and they took advantage of the invitation often.
We let the kids try having a sleep over on the tramp one night. One by one, they started coming in the house and all ended up in their own beds.
Another fun activity in July was hiking to Rocky Mouth Falls. I'd never done this hike before, but a friend (from the boys school) and I took our kids and tried it out. It was the perfect kids hike!
Meanwhile, Tom was hiking too. He was with his brother, Bryce and was hiking Kings Peak.
Another fun activity we did with Kristi and Carolynn again was Classic Water Park. Lily chose to hang out with her friend instead, since she gets bored on the slides (there's no where to just swim), so Jeff brought his friend, Cedar and the kids all had fun!
Cedric loved the slides.
Sophie was nervous at first, but by the end was going down the slides all by herself!
Jeff was excited about the snow cones.
We love Classic!
We saw a lot of fun movies this summer.
July also brought about some negative memories. I was pulling up to the gas pump and got too close to the pole, next thing I know, this happened...
a few days later, Jeff got mad and kicked a hole in our wall.
A few days after that, our AC went out. The three events were not cheap or easy fixes.
Lily and Cedric did great on their piano recital.
And we love their piano teacher (also our neighbor), Russ.
We went to the Winder Jamberall (family reunion) and there was a fun magician there (one of my second cousins).
The magician made balloon animals for all the kids.
Cedric got to help with his juggling act.
And Jeff got to help with his "sawing someone in half" act.
Jeff knew before-hand he'd be picked, and was a very good actor, staying "asleep" the whole time.
Lily spent the last part of July and first part of August going down to Orem several times. She was a buddy for some Chinese students who are here studying English. My cousin, Alana was in charge and was nice to let Lily sleep over several times and take her to the different events. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have, because Lily's phone broke and I couldn't get the other pictures off. She had so much fun and it was such a neat experience for her!
I took the other three kids to a lake one of the days she was gone. My friend, Rebekah invited us.
Poor Jeff had a migraine.
Luckily, the medication and caffeine started to kick in, and he was able to have fun too.
Another day (one of the days we had no AC), we spent the day at Scheels. Grandma Kay and Kristi's family came with us.
One weekend, it was just me and these three. We went to Culver's for dinner and I thought it was funny that they were all wearing stripes that day.
My kids are groing up so much! I love them.
Meanwhile, Tom was in Burley, Idaho doing the Spudman Triathlon with his brothers. Here's him and Bryce after the race.
Meanwhile, Jeff was with his friend, Cedar at his cabin for the weekend.
whew! July was crazy, but nothing like August...
